![]() ![]() This doesn’t both me because I don’t use the keyboard for those functions, but for people with a mouse instead of a trackpad, that might cut into workflow F3 & F4 should be Mission Control & Launchpad, but they are bluetooth device 3 and backlight decrease.Instead of screen brightness controls on F1 & F2, it has bluetooth device controls, which should have been hidden under a function layer. The proximity sensor works quite well, but not having a way to keep the backlight on for a decent timer kills this category.ĭoes not have a proper MacOS media key row (-): This is incredibly annoying when typing because then I have to wave my hands around every time I come back to the keyboard after 30 seconds to see what the keys are. The backlight seems to shut off in 10-15 seconds. I’ve heard there was an update for the full-size MX Keys that addressed this, but I don’t know if it was good enough or if that update also came to the MX Keys Mini. The auto-shutoff for the backlight (-) is ridiculously short and cannot be adjusted in settings. Having the bit of unused space around the up arrow helps work like a key finder bumps on the F and J keys for touch typing I know Apple has moved to having full-size side arrow keys and half-size up and down arrows, but this just makes it harder to find the arrow keys quickly and increases mistakes. ![]() Other than not being mechanical (which would be difficult to achieve without sacrificing portability/the extremely low profile), the typing feel alone is greatĪrrow keys (+): huge plus for having consistently sized arrow keys. The sculpted (?) keycaps feel really nice. I have had no issues with key chatter or characters being skipped (although I don’t do tasks like gaming where you would hit upwards of 5-6 keys at once). The travel is also nice compared to Apple’s newer keyboard designs that lack travel and in my opinion satisfaction. Typing feel (+) is mostly covered in the overall, but for a membrane keyboard, it feels great. (Huge -) Backlight timer/autobrightness.The first 2 are positives, and I’ve somewhat, but not strictly, ordered the negatives in order of how much they annoy me ![]() It feels good (although not mechanical), but the lack of other (functional) features is a killer. the media keys and hotkeys), but if your only concern is a nice-feeling, portable keyboard to type documents or whatever, then it’s a nice choice. Overall: I would not recommend this product for anyone wanting to use any features other than typing (e.g. Originally I purchased the Windows version thinking it would be better to have for dual usage, but I had issues on MacOS (outlined below), so I returned it for the Mac version hoping those issues wouldn’t persist (they did). I tried both the Mac and Windows versions. ![]()
